Hello and welcome to the first issue of Cloudy And Pleasant.

This page is a snapshot about great musicians and artists who enriched my musical world since I joined the community. I intend to make it a regular feature on my blog and I would be glad to receive comments, constructive criticism and suggestions.

This is a song I started after I heard the news about the earthquake on Haiti. I had to suspend the project due to my move, but now I finished it as the misery goes on …
Somehow I feel a little ashamed, because I was so shocked about the catastrophe and full of pity for the victims. But it’s not the earthquake why thousands are dying now. It’s our lifestyle, the exploitation of the third world through our “civilized” countries and our ingnorance towards their poverty which causes the misery that follows natural catastrophes. To make my shame complete, I know that I will forget all of this when the media has lost it’s interest in Haiti in a few weeks.

My tribute to the Man in Black. I also love the original version by Nine Inch Nails, but Johnny Cash’s interpretation is absolutely to the point and I believe every single word he sang. Rest in peace, JC!

My second remix of Alfadeo’s Dicrom. It turned out as a drone soundscape where the original samples are just artifacts.

I was asked to do a remix of the track Dicrom by Alfadeo. Based on a couple of original samples I did my own way of interpreting the tune. So, this time no ambient and downtempo, but groovy beats and real electronica. Enjoy!

Every New Years Eve after we raised the glasses and watched the fireworks I get into a strange melancholic mood. It’s like standing in a no-mans land between past and future. I guess many people feel like that in that night … :-/

Just 3 days to Halloween!!!

This is my gift for you to celebrate the best time of the year. Scary little monsters and devils, witches and vampires haunting the streets and everybody is getting sick of all the candies and sweets.

The track is inspired from Ruben Martinez’ cartoon artwork with the same title, which I found on deviantART and I instantly fell in love with. It is so much fun to look at this bunch of little creeps with their big orange and black striped goblin fella marauding the streets. I wish I could be one of them!

So, this is my hommage to that artwork – a kind of funky electronic march – and: Don’t call it Schnitzel!
